EAA–Emre Arolat Architecture is pleased to announce that a new office (EAA Studio Firenze) in Florence, Italy will be opening in May.
Situated within a city shaped by centuries of architectural discourse and cultural production, the Florence office marks a significant step in EAA’s ongoing international trajectory. This expansion is not only a geographic extension, but also an opportunity to engage more directly with the European context, its layered histories, contemporary challenges, and evolving architectural conversations.
Florence, as a site of accumulated knowledge and critical practice, offers a unique ground for dialogue. As a city deeply embedded in craftsmanship and art history, the choice was clear. The presence of EAA within this context aims to foster new collaborations, strengthen existing relationships, and contribute to a broader exchange of ideas across disciplines and geographies.
EAA continues its design studies through its offices in Florence and Istanbul working on projects at various scales. Conceived as an integral extension of the practice, EAA Studio Firenze will operate in close dialogue with the Istanbul office. The two studios will work hand in hand, informing and influencing one another culturally through a continuous exchange of ideas, methodologies, and perspectives. This reciprocal relationship is envisioned as a dynamic framework where different contexts, cultures, and modes of thinking intersect and enrich the design process.
At EAA, key design decisions are shaped by an interpretation of context in its widest sense, rather than through specific visual correspondences. The new office will support EAA’s current and upcoming international projects along with new project opportunities, while also serving as a platform for research, exhibitions, and intellectual engagement.
As EAA continues to explore architecture as a practice shaped by context, understood as the layered convergence of history, culture, material conditions, climate, and patterns of everyday life. The Florence office reflects a commitment to remain open, adaptive, and inquisitive.
